journalismSTL Needs YOU

journalismSTL calls for logo submissions

journalismSTL+Needs+YOU

journalismSTL (formerly Sponsors of School Publications) is looking for a new visual identity to match its new name, and we need your help. We are seeking logo submissions from creative, innovative journalism students. If your logo wins, you’ll see it published on the website, Twitter handle, conference brochures and more!

How to Enter:

Entries must be submitted through the journalismSTL website as a scalable vector graphic in EPS format and a JPEG. Color should be CMYK.

The contest begins Sept. 8, and submissions will be accepted through Oct. 15. The top entries will be posted on the journalismSTL website for voting, so spread the word (and the link!). There will be one week to vote before the poll closes. Following that period, a winner will be posted on the journalismSTL website and through @journalismSTL.

The leadership board reserves the right to not select a winner if no suitable entries are received.

Judging:

The journalismSTL leadership board will determine the top entries based on the following critieria:

  • Relevance: Does the entry align with the goals of journalismSTL?
  • Originality: Does the logo design demonstrate an original, creative design?
  • Aesthetic Quality: Does the logo exemplify design standards?
  • Versatility: Does the logo lend itself to use in different formats, sizes and colors?

Rules:

To be eligible, the student’s school must be a current member of journalismSTL. Check out our membership information.

Entries may come from an individual student or be the work of a group of students or staff.

Students may submit multiple entries. Submit entries here.

Each entry should lend itself to use in different formats including print and electronic forms and should work well reproduced in various sizes and colors including black and white.

All submitted entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not include, be based on, or derived from any other third party designs, trademarks or copyright images. The logo can not include part or all of any clip art or stock image.

By submitting an entry, students agree that journalismSTL will become the rightful owner of the winning image. The board reserves the right to modify entries.
